+ sector
studies & benchmarking
We have managed 6 major collaborative
sector-based projects, involving research throughout
the supply chain to develop sector improvement
programmes.
Each project was centred on the main trade association
for the sector, and involved:
+ Customer research
+ Supplier research
+ Manufacturer/Distributor research
+ Assessment of companies against the EFQM Business
Excellence Model
+ Benchmarking within the sector
We analysed the information obtained through
desk research, face-to-face interviews, assessments
and telephone interviews, in order to determine
how best to direct improvement initiatives taking
into account the different views and perceptions
of the various stakeholders.
We then facilitated a number of highly interactive
workshops to develop a sector-wide competitiveness
programme. Individual companies participating
in the assessment also gained a report on recommendations
to drive their own improvement activities.
Many of the initiatives recommended have since
been implemented and are now proving of direct
benefit to UK industry.
The case studies below provide examples of our
track record of helping organisations to make
effective use of research.
