A common scenario we come across is of the annual strategic review, that often takes place around Christmas time. The management team lock themselves into a room for 2-3 days, thrash out their ideas for the coming year and then head for the Christmas party.

However, by the time they return from the Christmas break, they have lost track of what was agreed and have no plan for turning ideas into actions. As a result, all momentum that was gained in conducting the review is lost and the year begins as the last one ended - with no view of how to move forward with all the good ideas generated. This quickly saps morale and any enthusiasm for going through the process again!
